About Prateek
Prateek is a Ph.D. candidate at New York University (NYU) in Civil and Urban Engineering. He is supervised by Dr. Luis Ceferino who leads Disaster Risk Analysis Lab at NYU. Prateekās research focuses on utility risk managemnet to natural disasters. His current focuses on improving the resilience of power systems to hurriacnes by (a) forecasting power outages before arrival of hurricane for emergency response (b) investating increased resilience throught deployment of distributed energy resources such as solar panels.
Prior to joining NYU, Prateek worked as a structural engineering in the city of San Francisco. He obtained his MS Structural Engineering (2020) from Stanford Unviversity, CA and B.E. (Hons.) Civil Engineering from BITS Pilani, India (2018).
